C5 Students' meeting 
in Portugal

All partner teams arrived at the airport on Sunday the 31st and were met by the Portuguese Coordinator of the Pro’Art project, who introduced the international students to their host families and organized travels home. O the next day at 9:15 there was a welcoming cerimony at Escola de Moda do Porto, followed by a tour of the school. The coordinators of the three vocational courses explained their objectives and contents. The finalist students presented their end of the course works.  All the students presented themselves, their hometown, their schools, exchanged candies typical from their countries and had a networking activity. Escola de Moda do Porto organized and offered a welcoming lunch to all participants.In the afternoon there was an Embroidery Workshop with the theme “Portugal Valentine´s Handkerchief”.

On Tuesday, the activities started at 9:30 with the Worshop „History of Fashion” - students learned about the history and evolution of garments throughout the different decades. It was followed by the workshop „Fashion Trends” providing students with tools to be updated with the current trends in Fashion. After the lunch break the workshop „Fashion Fotography” gave students the opportunity to integrate the concepts they had learnt in a photo shoot. In teams students did the styling of models for selected decades and prepared the photo shooting session. The results of the session were exhibited in EMP social media pages.

On Wednesday, 3rd April the participants visited Casa da Música, Oporto’s Music Hall, Serralves Museum and the exihibition of the works of Joana Vasconcelo’s, one of the most prominent contemporary artist in Portugal, followed by a picnic lunch in Virtude’s Garden. After that students and teachers visited the Clérigo’s Church learned about the Barroque Style typical of Catholic Churches from the XVIII century.  On Thursday, 4th April the participants did a city walking tour guided by an expert of History and Art Culture. Students walked through the most iconic streets of Porto, learned about the architecture of the buildings and visited „Palácio da Bolsa”, the building of the former Stock Market, the most visited monument of the city.

In the afternoon students took part in a Customization Workshop in which they learned how to reuse denim by creating shirts out of used jeans, which they customized using all sorts of materials, from buttons, to lace, beads and embroidery motives. 

On Friday, 5th April the participants met at EMP at 9:15 and took part in a Bookbinding workshop, in which they learned how to bind sheets of paper and create their own books and notebooks. 

At 13:00 there was the ceremony of Certificates Award followed by the official closure lunch break. All the participants had the afternoon free to enjoy as they pleased. Most teams departed very early in the morning of Saturday so used the afternoon to pack while some others spent their time with their friends and host and enjoyed the city. All teams departed on Saturday the 6thApril.
